Description
Productive and critical framework for creating independently conceived painting projects within a broad array of painting media, multimedia, and interdisciplinary contexts. Emphasis will shift between highly focused and exploratory processes as each student develops coherence between paint’s materiality, supports, concepts, and context. Encourages historical and experimental methods and includes painting’s extension into other media such as photography,
printmaking, film, video, and sculpture. Prepares students for the advanced and thesis-levels of our curriculum where working across media is encouraged. May be repeated for credit.
