Description
Develops ability in thinking critically about the theory, strategies, and performance of public discourse by com-bining an examination of the symbolic strategies designed to secure and resist social or institutional change with critical analysis of texts in various contexts and rhetorical situations. A series of case studies illustrates a range of challenges public actors face and the strategies they use to respond, including audience identification, types of argument, style, narrative, symbols, and medium.
