Description
Continuation of Contemporary Dance I. Students will deepen their knowledge
of organic ways of moving while maximizing circular forces, coordinating breath and movement, and moving with an awareness of gravity and momentum. Students will engage in more complex movement patterns and will be expected to learn choreographed exercises and phrases, to improvise, to create original material, to work with partners and to investigate movement independently. Readings, written assignments, and videos will be assigned to enhance the
understanding of principles of alignment, movement, and performance. Students will study key contemporary artists in the field.
