Description

Embodied practices that bring students into a closer relationship with the environment and its eco-systems, while investigating the climate crisis as an opportunity to inhabit bodies connected to the natural environment. Movement geared to somatic exploration and sensory perceptions that enhance awareness of ecosystems. Includes research of ecologically inspired work by dancers such as Andrea Olsen, Anna Halprin, and Raffaele Rufo, working with interdependent ecology, dancing out-doors, discussing readings and videos, and creating site-responsive work. This course is appropriate for students of all levels of dance education.
